Michigan's Lobby Just Shrank by Two-Thirds. Here's Who Won.
Michigan's tracked lobby went from 1,078 games to 410 in five days. That is a 62 percent cut.
Two casinos dropped out of the panel between July 28 and August 2, from 10 to 8. When the pool shrinks that hard, share math gets strange fast. The providers who deleted the most games are the ones who climbed.
Fewer titles, more share
Look at the top of the board. Games Global is now the most visible provider in Michigan at 8.57 percent, up from 7.37. It got there by cutting 27 games, from 81 down to 54.
IGT is the sharper example. It shed 30 games, from 51 to 21, and its share barely moved: 7.98 to 8.08 percent. Same shelf space, less than half the catalog. That is a tighter, better-positioned lineup.
| Provider | Share now | Share before | Games now | Games before |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Games Global | 8.57% | 7.37% | 54 | 81 |
| Light & Wonder | 8.39% | 4.39% | 29 | 42 |
| Evolution | 8.10% | 4.65% | 37 | 45 |
| IGT | 8.08% | 7.98% | 21 | 51 |
| Pragmatic Play | 3.73% | 2.40% | 22 | 24 |
The four leaders are now separated by less than half a percentage point. Michigan's top shelf is a photo finish.
The real movers
Light & Wonder posted the biggest share jump of any provider, up 4 points to 8.39 percent. Add its second tag in our data, "lightandwonder" at 5.94 percent, and the combined L&W footprint sits north of 14 percent. That is the single largest presence in the market once you account for the split labeling.
Evolution is the other story. Up 3.45 points to 8.10 percent, and it is the live-casino anchor here: 18 of its 37 games are live tables. No other provider comes close on live.
Provider share change, July 28 to August 2
The clearest casualty is Aristocrat. It dropped from 11 games to 2, yet held share at 2.63 percent because both survivors are heavy hitters. One of them is the most visible game in the entire market.
The top of the lobby now
Lightning Link High Stakes by Aristocrat is Michigan's number one game, a perfect score of 100 across 3 casinos. It is the one Aristocrat title that carried the brand through the contraction.
Behind it, Divine Fortune Gold from NetEnt sits at 83 on 4 casinos, the widest reach of any top-ten game. Cash Eruption by IGT holds third at 76, but it used to be the market leader. It scored 100 five days ago and lost 24 points.
| Game | Provider | Score | Casinos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lightning Link High Stakes | Aristocrat | 100 | 3 |
| Divine Fortune Gold | NetEnt | 83 | 4 |
| Cash Eruption | IGT | 76 | 3 |
| Huff N Even More Puff Grand | L&W | 70 | 3 |
| Cash Machine | Everi | 68 | 2 |
Everi's Cash Machine is the mover to watch. It nearly doubled to 68 and picked up a second casino. And the breakout of the period is Rocket Rumble from SPINGAMES, a crash title that jumped from a score of 4 to 50 and went from 1 casino to 3. SPINGAMES rode that into a 2.06-point share gain off almost nothing.
What fell out
Pile 'Em Up 2 from Games Global cratered from 55 to 3 and lost a casino. Big Catch Even Bigger Bass 3 (the long one) dropped 50 points to 18. Both were casualties of the two departing casinos more than any deliberate merchandising call.
Live casino thinned out too. Live games fell from 104 to 44. As a slice of the pool that is actually up, from 9.6 percent to 10.7 percent, because the total shrank harder. Evolution owns most of what remains.
So what
If you buy positioning in Michigan, the map just redrew itself. The top four providers are within a coin flip of each other, so a single new placement can flip the ranking. That has not been true in most markets we track.
For providers: the lesson is IGT's. You do not need 51 games to hold 8 percent. You need the right 21. Michigan is now a market where a lean, high-visibility catalog outperforms a broad one.
For affiliates: Lightning Link High Stakes, Divine Fortune Gold and Cash Eruption are the three names carrying search intent at the top. The churn below score 40 is noisy and casino-dependent, so anchor content on the stable top.
Methodology
The panel lost two casinos between snapshots, which drives most of the game-count drop and inflates surviving share figures. Read share moves as relative position, not absolute growth. Two provider labels, "Light & Wonder" and "lightandwonder," refer to the same studio and are reported separately in the source data. About 21.8 percent of visibility is unattributed, including one top-ten slot listed as Unknown.
The takeaway: in a market this compressed, the provider who cuts smartest wins the shelf, not the one who ships the most.
