Dutch Lobbies Shrank 27 Percent. Pragmatic Play Just Took a Fifth of What's Left

The Dutch market got smaller and more top-heavy at the same time.

Between May and August, our panel dropped from 16 casinos to 14. Total tracked games fell from 2,589 to 1,897. That is 692 games gone, a 27 percent cut. In a contraction like that you would expect the leader to bleed share. Pragmatic Play did the opposite.

The top of the lobby got heavier

Pragmatic Play now holds 21.45 percent of Dutch lobby visibility, up from 17.73. Its game count barely moved, 259 to 263. Same catalogue, bigger slice. When the shelf shrinks and your position holds, your share climbs. That is exactly what happened here.

The real movers sit right behind. Relax Gaming jumped from 4.13 to 7.72 percent and added 16 games to reach 155. Play'n GO went from 2.84 to 6.59 percent with an identical 63-game catalogue. Same games, nearly double the share. Both benefited from the culling around them.

Games Global doubled its share, 2.11 to 4.11 percent, and grew its count from 86 to 97. Greentube climbed from 3.7 to 5.33 with nine more games. The pattern across the top: the providers who held or added titles all gained share, because everyone below them lost titles fast.

Who got cut

The contraction was not evenly spread. Some catalogues were gutted.

Push Gaming is the clearest casualty. It went from 45 games and 1.14 percent share to 2 games and 0.03 percent. Effectively erased. Red Tiger lost 33 games, dropping from 55 to 22 and from 3.04 to 1.73 percent. RubyPlay fell from 45 games to 15. Bellot and KIRON left the panel entirely.

This was not a market-wide trim. It was a reshuffle. The providers who lost casinos lost big, while the ones who held their placements soaked up the freed-up visibility. Fewer shelves, and the strong took the good ones.

A new game owns the number one spot

The single most visible game in the Netherlands right now did not exist in our May snapshot.

Holy Moo! Extreme Power from Play'n GO debuted straight at a perfect score of 100, live on 6 of the 14 casinos. That is the launch every product team dreams of. It anchors Play'n GO's share jump and it is one of eight brand-new entries that landed with real weight, including NetEnt's Starburst at 77 and Hacksaw's Exiles Fortunes at 77.

Behind the newcomer, Pragmatic Play runs the board. Gates of Olympus roughly doubled its score from 49 to 95 and now sits on 8 casinos. Big Bass Splash holds a score of 84 across 9 lobbies, the widest distribution of any game we track here. Big Bass Bonanza is on 8. Pragmatic's evergreens are not just present, they are on more shelves than anyone else.

One Pragmatic title bucked the trend. The Big Dog House collapsed from a score of 83 to 8, sliding off five casinos down to two. Legacy of Dead, Gobstopper Grind and Gates of Olympus 1000 all shed 30-plus points too. Even the winning providers rotated dead weight out.

So what

For providers, the lesson is placement, not catalogue size. Play'n GO and Relax nearly doubled their share without meaningfully changing their game counts. They just happened to be on the casinos that survived and stayed prominent while rivals were pruned. In a shrinking panel, holding your positions is a gain by itself.

For operators, the shelf has narrowed. Fewer casinos means the games that get carried are increasingly the same names. Gates of Olympus, the Big Bass line, Book of Dead and now Holy Moo! Extreme Power are the safe core. If you are building a Dutch lobby to stand out, the differentiation has to come from the tier below the Pragmatic wall.

For affiliates, watch the risers with launch momentum. Holy Moo! Extreme Power, Runner Runner Megaways and Star Joker are the titles gaining distribution right now, and those are the ones players will be searching for next.

We covered how deep this Pragmatic lead runs in Pragmatic Play dominates Dutch lobbies. This update confirms it: the lead widened while the market shrank.

Methodology

Our Dutch panel moved from 16 casinos to 14 between the May and August snapshots. Some of the sharpest provider and game drops reflect casinos leaving the panel, not only operators dropping content. Share is a percentage of total tracked visibility score, so a shrinking base lifts the providers who hold their placements. Unattributed visibility sits at 4.69 percent, low enough not to move the rankings.

The Netherlands did not just contract. It concentrated. The providers who kept their shelf space now own a bigger market than they did in May, and Pragmatic Play sits further ahead than ever.
