Portugal's Lobby Doubled and Pragmatic Play Took the Biggest Bite
Portugal's tracked lobby more than doubled in three months. We went from 167 games to 381, and one provider walked away with the biggest slice.
Pragmatic Play now holds 28.01 percent of all lobby visibility in the SRIJ market. In June it was 18.35 percent. That is a 9.66 point jump while the panel itself was ballooning, which means Pragmatic grew faster than the shelf it sits on.
Here's the thing: this wasn't just Pragmatic. A whole tier of providers appeared from zero. The June snapshot barely knew Amusnet, Greentube, or Games Global existed. Now all three sit inside the top ten.
The panel grew, and so did the winners
Adding one casino took the panel from 7 to 8. Adding 214 games took it from a snapshot you could read in a coffee break to a real market picture. That matters for how you read every number below: share is share of a much bigger pie now.
Pragmatic Play went from 38 games to 80. Doubling your game count while the whole panel doubles is one thing. Gaining ten share points on top of it is another. Pragmatic did both.
The bigger story is Endorphina. It had exactly one game and 0.49 percent share in June. Now it has 14 games and 8.5 percent, good enough for second place. That is the fastest climb in the market.
Biggest share gains, June to September
Amusnet, Greentube, and Games Global all posted their numbers from a standing start. None of them registered any visibility in June. Games Global brought the most titles of that group, 24 games, but converted them to just 3.3 percent share. Plenty of catalogue, thin shelf position.
Who lost ground
Almost nobody, and that is the point. When the panel doubles, standing still means losing relative share, yet only two names actually slid.
Thunderkick dropped from 2.16 percent to 0.55 percent, a 1.61 point fall on the same two games. It didn't lose titles. The market simply grew around it. Big Time Gaming barely moved, down 0.08 points, even after adding a game.
Play'n GO is the interesting middle case. It grew from 6 games to 20 and lifted share from 2.08 to 4.39 percent. But its individual titles are fading. Fire Joker, Legacy of Dead, and Book of Dead all lost score. More games, quieter classics.
The top of the lobby is a Pragmatic wall
Look at what sits at the top now.
| Game | Provider | Score | Casinos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter | Pragmatic Play | 100 | 3 |
| Sweet Bonanza 2500 | Pragmatic Play | 91 | 2 |
| Hot River | Synot Games | 81 | 3 |
| 3 Witch Pots | Endorphina | 79 | 2 |
| Gates of Olympus 1000 | Pragmatic Play | 76 | 3 |
| Big Bass Boxing Bonus Round | Pragmatic Play | 72 | 3 |
Six of the top ten games are Pragmatic. The Sweet Bonanza family owns the top two spots, and Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter is the only game in the market with a perfect 100 score, up from 45 in June across three lobbies now instead of one.
The riser list reads almost entirely Pragmatic too. Sweet Bonanza 2500 added 68 points. Big Bass Boxing Bonus Round added 57 and tripled its lobby count from one casino to three. Sweet Bonanza 1000 gained 49 on the same three-casino spread.
The two non-Pragmatic titles breaking into the top five deserve a nod. Hot River from Synot Games launched straight to a score of 81 on three lobbies, the strongest newcomer in the market. Endorphina's 3 Witch Pots hit 79 on two. Both were absent in June.
So what
If you are a provider trying to enter Portugal, the door is open. Amusnet, Greentube, and Games Global went from zero to top-ten in one refresh cycle, so the lobbies are clearly onboarding new catalogue fast. That is rare. Most markets we track reward incumbents.
If you buy or negotiate positioning here, the Sweet Bonanza shelf is the one to fight for. Pragmatic isn't just leading, it is compounding: the same titles that ranked in June climbed while spreading to more casinos.
And if you are an operator, the fallers tell you what players skip. Play'n GO's book slots are drifting down even as the provider adds games. Shelf space spent on Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead is space not spent on what is actually rising.
Methodology note
The panel moved from 7 casinos and 167 games to 8 casinos and 381 games between June 21 and September 18. Some of that growth is a genuinely deeper lobby, some is better coverage. Read share deltas with that in mind. We could not attribute 21.34 percent of visibility to a named provider this cycle. Live games remain a sliver, 14 of 381.
Portugal is no longer a small panel. It is a Pragmatic Play market with a wide-open second row.
